WHAT DOES TROVE ACCEPT FOR CONSIGNMENT?


We accepts seasonal clothing, jewelry, accessories, kids items, housewares, collectibles, small furniture and decor. All items must be clean and in excellent condition to be considered. We encourage you to visit our store and see for yourself the variety of pieces we accept for consignment.




WHAT DOES TROVE NOT ACCEPT FOR CONSIGNMENT?


  • Items that have not be cleaned
  • Items with stains/damage
  • Items that are not in season
  • Pants - unless new and with tags, in-season, and purchased within the last 2 years; pants are a slow seller and may be declined regardless of label and condition
  • Bedding - unless new with tags
  • Swimwear - unless new with tags
  • Lingerie - unless new with tags
  • Hosiery
  • Bridal/Evening Gowns
  • Maternity
  • Suits
  • We are extremely selective with children's and men's clothing as they are slow sellers
  • Faux designer goods
  • Shoes that show signs of wear




HOW DOES TROVE AUTHENTICATE DESIGNER GOODS?


We use a sophisticated tool based on Artificial Intelligence called Entrupy to authenticate designer bags. This tool provides a 99% accuracy rate. Additional designer goods are authenticated by an in-house team of experts. We may pass on designer goods that do not have authentication documents or receipts.




WHEN CAN WE DROP OFF MERCHANDISE TO CONSIGN?


No appointment is necessary! We are open 7-days a week and accept items every day. Depending on the volume of items you bring and the traffic in the store, drop-offs can take anywhere from 10 to 45 minutes. There may be a wait to have your items screened. We kindly request that you remain in the store while we screen your items. Please note that additional items may be passed-on at the time of pricing.




HOW MUCH WILL TROVE PAY ME FOR MY ITEMS?


Consignors will receive 40% cash/check commission on all sales made during your 7-week consignment contract. The first 5 weeks items are sold at the initially stated retail price. The 6th week items are reduced by 20%. The final contract week items are reduced by 50%. Consignors may opt for store credit for all or a portion of their commission. The portion used for in-store purchases is paid out based on a 50% commission. Please call or email for more details.




WHEN WILL TROVE PUT MY ITEMS ON THE SALES FLOOR?


We typically process your consignment within 21 days from the time you drop off your items. Once your items have been processed you will be emailed your price list and your items will be put on the sales floor immediately. Be sure to check your spam folder or call the store if you do not receive this email after 21 days. TROVE is not responsible for emails filtered to spam/junk folders.




WHAT DOES TROVE DO WITH MY ITEMS THAT DID NOT SELL?


If you items do not sell within your 7-week contract you are welcome to retrieve your unsold items. You must call 48-hours in advance to schedule your pick-up. If your unsold items are not retrieved after your contract expires your items will be converted into our inventory. Converted items that sell after your contract expiration will not be credited to your account. TROVE will not send any reminders of your contract expiration. You can find your contract expiration in your itemized list email and in your consignor access profile.




WHAT HAPPENS TO ITEMS THAT TROVE PASSES ON AFTER MY INITIAL DROP-OFF?


Sometimes the pricing team will find defects with your items after the initial screen and during the pricing process. If that is the case, we will include this information in the email with your price list. We will hold the passed-on items for 7 days. If you do not retrieve your passed-on items after 7 days the items will be donated and will not be returned.




HOW DOES TROVE DETERMINE THE PRICING OF ITEMS?


TROVE's pricing team is thoroughly trained to price items based on resale market value, taking into account the items condition, age, style, label and market demand. Consignors can include pricing recommendations for items on their drop off form but all final pricing decisions are made by TROVE.




WHAT IF I DO NOT LIKE THE PRICE THAT TROVE HAS LISTED FOR MY ITEM?


All final pricing decisions are made by TROVE Pricing Specialists. Consignors can note minimum pricing requirements on their drop off forms. If we are unable to price an item at that price we will hold the item for you until your Pick Up Date (note: this is different than your Expiration Date).




HOW AND WHEN WILL I BE PAID FOR MY CONSIGNMENT?


All payments are made on the 15th of the month after the Expiration Date of your consignment contract. Payments over $25 are made via check and mailed to the address on file. Payouts less than $25 must be paid in store. Consignors can opt to "Keep their Balance on File" in which case your payment will remain in your account at all times. The balance can be used for in-store purchases (which are paid out at a 50% commission rate) or a check can be requested anytime after the 15th of the month following the Expiration Date of the consignment contract. Missing, damaged, destroyed checks will be issued 60 days after the Claim Date and a $25 stop-payment fee may be deducted from the commission total.
